Zak is Now a New Mexican
Updated 5/25/4

The first thing you gotta do when becoming a New Mexican is climb something. Here is our newest New Mexican sitting on top of one of those boulders that sometimes roll into the valley.

At this point, Zak had still not been warned about the occasional rock slide.

After climbing, you learn how to lay around in the sun. All the better if there is a waterfall under your head for a pillow.

Here is the same waterfall from the other side. This is a mandatory picture for all visitors.

Next on the acculturation schedule is hot/warm springs. Don't bother zooming in - Zak has been digitally altered! Don't worry guys, it did not hurt much. And girls - It can just as easily be altered the other way.
After magically growing a tree from a rock, Zak tries to make a whale grow from the pool.

This pool is situated in fairly nice scenery.
Now where did I put my pants?
Our Visit to Giant Foot Ruins
Zak and Dad hiked way up a mesa to the Giant Foot Ruins. These are seriously in the middle of nowhere. Unless you know where Guadalupita Mesa is near Jemez Springs. There was a "road" up to them, but nothing but an ATV could have gone up it. And the ATV would have had to flown across the Rio Guadalupe (temperature 32.1 degrees according to Zak).

This is the inside of a native house. Last inhabitant (before Zak) was 400 to 500 years ago.

There were shards of pottery all over these ruins. Here are some of the best. $20,000 fine to take any away.

Out in the middle of nowhere, away from the Giant Foot Ruins, Zak found this shard of a pottery handle.

This picture was taken just before the pile of rocks tumbled down the cliff. The search for Zak is ongoing.
